HDR paint splash wallpapers for iPhone

One of the best parts of the iPhone is, undoubtedly, the OLED screen. The ability for the panel to display high dynamic range images with incredible clarity and contrast is unparalleled in the handset industry. Today’s HDR paint splash wallpapers take advantage of the contrast ratio and the ability to showcase a wide color gamut.

I’ve always been enamored with paint splash style wallpapers. The colors pop on the screen and the abstract shapes make for a fun, dynamic looking image. I feel like they make awesome wallpapers for both the Lock Screen and Home Screen. They are wild enough to take advantage of the Lock Screen blank canvas, but they are not so ‘busy’ that they over complicate the Home Screen with all of the different icons. Hopefully, in iOS 18, we are able to set wallpapers wherever we want, which would make busy wallpapers no trouble.

My favorite of the HDR paint splash wallpapers, with its True Black (hex #000000) background, is pictured first. This paint explosion and light ray are perfect examples of how the iPhone OLED has no trouble flashing extremely bright and colorful content, right next to an all black background.

This week we will get to see what Apple has in store for the new iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, macOS, and visionOS! With each of these new operating systems, there will certainly be a background image for each that we would love to turn into a wallpaper. If you are able to extract the image or recreate it, send it my way to be featured on the upcoming wallpaper post!
