The Dopamine jailbreak tool for iPhones and iPads running certain versions of iOS & iPadOS 15 & 16 by developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) received an update on Monday to version 2.1.5.
Fröder announced the updated build in a post shared to X (formerly Twitter) just this morning, linking to the GitHub page where the latest version is being hosted for download by end users.
Citing the change log posted to the project’s GitHub page, Dopamine v2.1.5 brings the following changes over the previous release:
– Allow binaries to get custom pmap_cs trust level via the
jb.pmap_cs_custom_trustentitlement, possible values: {"PMAP_CS_PROFILE_PREFLIGHT","PMAP_CS_COMPILATION_SERVICE","PMAP_CS_OOP_JIT"(iOS 16 only),"PMAP_CS_LOCAL_SIGNING","PMAP_CS_PROFILE_VALIDATED","PMAP_CS_APP_STORE","PMAP_CS_IN_LOADED_TRUST_CACHE","PMAP_CS_IN_STATIC_TRUST_CACHE"}, a lower trust level allows the process to be less restricted by PMAP_CS, this in practice fixes the EQE app and it’s LUA recompiler not to work (but only if it has the entitlement, so make sure you use the newest EQE build)
– Fixposix_spawnattr_setarchpref_npnot being supported by the codesign bypass (#573)
As you can probably surmise on your own, this isn’t a major update by any stretch. Rather, it incorporates bug fixes and improvements that benefit end users with better jailbreak performance and stability.
If you’re already using the Dopamine jailbreak, then you can download and install the latest version directly from the Dopamine app that already resides on your device via the in-app OTA update mechanism.
Those who aren’t already using Dopamine can download the latest version directly from the project’s GitHub page and perma-sign it on their device by way of TrollStore. It’s obviously recommended that users take advantage of the latest release so that they have the latest bug fixes and improvements at the time of jailbreaking.
For those unaware, the Dopamine jailbreak is of the rootless variety and supports the following device and firmware combinations:
- iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.6.1 on A8-A11devices
- iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.5.1 and 16.6 betas 1-4 on A12-A14 & M1 devices
- iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.5 and 16.6 betas 1-4 on A15-A16 & M2 devices
