NoDialerKeypadTones silences the keypad tones in the native Phone app

Certain aspects of the iOS mobile operating system provide feedback of different styles. Whether that’s haptic feedback you can feel or audible feedback you can hear, it’s intended to give you the positive response you’d come to expect from taking a particular action.

As true as that may be, some folks aren’t fond of these types of feedback, especially audible ones that can grab the attention of others. That’s why iOS developer CydiaGeek, at the request of a jailbreaker, made a new and free jailbreak tweak called NoDialerKeypadTones.

The name of this tweak tells you pretty much everything you need to know about it. It silences the audible tone feedback that you’d ordinarily hear when tapping on the numeric dial pad keys in the iPhone’s native Phone app.

It accomplishes this without making you toggle your systemwide mute switch, which is useful because other system sounds will continue to work as expected even with the dial pad sounds now disabled.

With no options to configure, the NoDialerKeypadTones tweak is as simple as it comes. Installing it effortlessly suppresses the sound, while uninstalling it would bring the sound back.

Stealthy phone number dialing can come in handy in a variety of different scenarios. One that comes to mind is if you’re hiding from a burglar in your home and you don’t want them to hear you dialing 911. Of course, this is a fringe example, and your usage may vary.
