The iDB team zeroes in on the latest jailbreak news as it happens so that we can cover it in real time throughout the week. But we also know that people can’t stay glued to the internet all day every day, which can make it easy to miss stuff.

Fortunately, we attempt to keep our readers apprised even when they can’t be here all throughout the week by providing a weekly roundup every Sunday, and today will be no different.

CoolStar gets hired by Apple

CoolStar says they're becoming an Apple employee tomorrow.

CoolStar, the talented developer behind many jailbreak tools such as Electra, Chimera, Odyssey, and Taurine, was officially hired by Apple this past week.

As a result of being hired by Apple, CoolStar will no longer be able to work on jailbreak-related projects, and as such, has open-sourced those projects for others to take over.
