Around four years ago, I showcased a jailbreak tweak called N95 by iOS developers ETHN and MTAC that used masking effects to make the Now Playing artwork more interesting to look at in not only Apple Music, but also a variety of different media playing apps.
This week, I’m excited to share that this longtime favorite jailbreak tweak of mine has been updated to support rootless iOS 16 jailbreaks — namely Dopamine and palera1n — such that more users on modern jailbroken firmware can take full advantage of it.
In addition to being cleverly named, I think that N95 brings exciting functionality to pwned handsets. The tweak includes a variety of different masking effects that you can choose from to apply to your Now Playing interface in the following apps:
- Apple Music
- Spotify
- Pandora & Pandora Premium
- YouTube Music
- Tidal
- Deezer
- Marvis Pro
- Anghami
- Podcasts
- CarPlay
Additionally, N95 plays nicely with a variety of other jailbreak tweaks, including:
The N95 jailbreak tweak also supports theme pack add-ons. At least two already exist, including N95ThemePack and N95ThemePackV2 to expand your library of masking themes. The theme packs are free, even though the main tweak costs money.
Once installed, you can head over the tweak’s preference pane in the Settings app to universally apply any album artwork theme you want:
In any case, if you’re interested at all in enhancing your music listening experience, then I think N95 would be a worthwhile addition. You can purchase the tweak for $0.99 from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app, and it now supports jailbroken devices ranging from iOS & iPadOS firmware 13 all the way through 16.
