How to install TrollStore with Picasso

We previously showed you two ways to install TrollStore 2 on arm64e devices (A12 and newer) running iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.5 & 16.6 beta 1 via the kernel file descriptor (kfd) exploit. Those methods encompassed using the Misaka and PureKFD package manager apps, but it’s worth mentioning that you can also use the Picasso kfd-based toolbox app to accomplish the same task, if you so prefer.

In today’s tutorial, we’ll show you how to install TrollStore 2 on kfd-vulnerable devices operating on the aforementioned firmware versions with Picasso instead of the Misaka or PureKFD apps. So if Picasso is your preferred means of kfd-based system customization, then buckle up, because you’ve found the right tutorial for you.

What you need to know

Before we get started, you need to know what TrollStore is.

TrollStore is a perma-signing utility, which means that you can use it to permanently install .ipa or .tipa files on your iPhone or iPad. The installation looks and feels a lot like sideloading, except that unlike sideloading, you won’t need to re-sign the app every seven days with your Apple ID. TrollStore accomplishes this unique task with the help of a powerful CoreTrust bug in certain versions of iOS & iPadOS.

Both the CoreTrust bug and TrollStore 2 support up to iOS & iPadOS 17.0, but it’s worth noting that the kfd exploit we’ll be utilizing to install TrollStore 2 only supports iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.5 & 16.6 beta 1. That said, if you have a firmware in that range, that’s great. If you’re running iOS or iPadOS 16.6 or any firmware from iOS or iPadOS 16.6 beta 2 to 17.0, then you will need to wait for a new installation method.

To make use of this tutorial, you’re going to need a device that already has the Picasso app installed on it. You can easily install Picasso with any sideloading platform, including AltStore or Sideloadly.

How to sideload Picasso with AltStore

1) Launch Picasso from your Home Screen:

2) Log in to your Picasso account:

Note: If you don’t already have a Picasso account, you will need to make one first via sourcelocation’s website, which you can find below:

3) Once logged in, tap on the → Take me there button:

4) You are now taken to the Explore tab. Scroll down to find and tap on the TrollStore option:

5) Tap on the Get button:

7) Return to the Home tab and tap the Apply button:

9) Reboot your iPhone or iPad regularly.

Note: Do not force-reboot your device. Simply turn it fully off, and then manually turn it back on again.

10) When booted back up, launch the Tips app:

Note: Your device will appear to respring. Just wait until it comes back up again.

12) Launch TrollStore from the Home Screen:
