Download these HD photographs capturing incredible bolts and streaks of lightning and set them as wallpapers on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices.
Lightning wallpapers
The collection comes from the open license repository Unsplash which hosts a large selection of original imagery posted by photographers from all around the world. Given the screen orientation, the three portrait images from this collection make the easiest-to-set iPhone wallpapers. However, they’re large enough for an iPad or portrait-mode desktop monitor.
My favorite of the three is listed first; a sunrise wallpaper featuring a large body of water that is trickling into a stream at the foreground, then accented by a massive bolt of lightning in the background. The color gradient in the sky moves through the bright sun to a dark purple hue in the corner, with a dark foreground that adds depth.
The following options provide a much larger, non-portrait-sized canvas. Sweeping views of landscapes feel much more breathtaking with a full view of the subject. Consequently, these photographs are big enough for a 4K monitor, in most cases. Set these as your desktop background and iPad wallpaper or focus on the subject matter of your choosing on your iPhone.
You can find more photographs from the same artists by checking out their Unsplash profiles: Speckfechta; Forrest Moreland; Mike Lewinski; Angela Compagnone; Sean Pierce; Andrew Landcaster; Dominik QN; NOAA; Svitlana Koshelieva.
