Soon after TrollStore 2 launched, Picasso project lead developer @sourcelocation made TrollStore 2 installations free via Picasso’s kfd exploit installation method free for all users for two days. Picasso normally paywalls features, requiring users to pay for its services, but a lot of that seems to be changing as of today.
In an announcement shared to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, @sourcelocation said that Picasso v3 would become free forever for all users starting today, Sunday, December 3rd. As expected, a follow-up post in @sourcelocation’s Discord server announced exactly that:
According to the announcement, this is a major milestone for Picasso because the project is officially deemed “stable” as of version 3. As a kfd exploit-centric toolbox for arm64e devices (A12 and later), features of Picasso include icon theming and file system customization, among other things.
To go alongside this major announcement, the team is also releasing what they call Picasso Themes, which is a package of 20 themes that can be purchased for $5.95 and used within the Picasso app to change up the look and feel of your Home Screen.
As a thank you to previous beta testers who paid to use Picasso, we’re told those users will get a 25% discount starting tonight.
If you’ve never used Picasso before, then today is a good day to get started. It’s available from @sourcelocation’s Discord server. A jailbreak is not required to take advantage of Picasso.
Not only can you use Picasso to customize your device, but you can use it to install the TrollStore 2 perma-signing utility on your kfd exploit-vulnerable arm64e iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 16.0-16.6 beta 1.
Are you planning to give Picasso a try now that it’s no longer considered to be in beta? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
