Apple streamed its “Scary Fast” Apple Event on October 30th, 2023, unveiling the new M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips, along with the refreshed 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring these chips. The 24-inch iMac also received an upgrade with the M3 chip.
The M3 chips are based on a 3-nanometer architecture, offering a notable performance boost while consuming less battery compared to the M1 family and older Intel processors.
If you’re currently using an Intel MacBook Pro or an M1 Mac that’s no longer meeting your workload demands, these wicked fast M3 Macs will provide a substantial performance improvement.
The new 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros are available in two colors: Space Gray and Silver. The M3 iMac comes in seven vibrant colors, just like before.
A surprising highlight from the event was the price drop for the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, which now starts at $1,599 instead of the previous $1,999. The 16-inch MacBook Pro still starts at $2,499, and the M3 iMac line continues to start at $1,299, the same as the M1 iMac.
