How to edit photos on iPhone for some pretty amazing results

Check out handy tips and third-party apps to edit your photos shot on iPhone, even RAW images, with pretty awesome results.

To help you make the most from your iPhone’s camera, we thought it prudent to ask our videographer Michael Billig to put together a hands-on video walkthrough laying out the most effective ways to edit photos on iPhone.

The video goes over shooting tricks everyone should know, like in-camera framing,  turning on the camera grid, using the Rule of Thirds and changing image format. It also covers a few third-party apps that take your photographs to the next level with powerful presets for RAW shots and features such as removing or masking objects and creating attractive photo collages.

Edit iPhone photos for amazing results

With its simple to use editing tools and filters, Apple’s built-in Photos app is perfect for making quick adjustments to your photos.

  1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad, tap the image you want to edit, and hit the edit button.
  2. Select Adjust at the bottom to use adjustment tools such as Auto, Exposure, Brilliance, Highlights, Shadows, Contrast, Brightness, Black Point, Saturation, Vibrance, Warmth, Tint, Sharpness, Definition, Noise Reduction, and Vignette. Each tool has a slider to adjust the effect intensity to your liking.
  3. To try the built-in effects, tap the Filters button at the bottom and pick one.
  4. Choose Done to save your edits.
