Want to save a SoundCloud track as MP3 for offline listening? In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to download songs from SoundCloud locally to your iPhone or iPad and listen anytime without an internet connection.
1. Subscribe to SoundCloud Go or Go+
You can subscribe to SoundCloud Go ($4.99/month) or SoundCloud Go+ ($9.99/month) and get the ability to save music in the app for offline listening. Additionally, these subscriptions offer other perks, such as ad-free listening.
Buying a subscription also ensures the independent artists you love are paid for their hard work.
Note: SoundCloud Go and Go+ aren’t available in all countries.
2. Use the SoundCloud to Mp3 website
1) Open the SoundCloud app and copy the song link. You can do this by tapping the three dots button and selecting Copy link.
2) Visit the SoundCloud to Mp3 downloader website in Safari.
3) Paste the copied SoundCloud track link in the box there and tap the download button.
4) Scroll down and tap 128 KBPS MP3.
5) Now tap Download from the prompt that appears.
6) Next, tap the download icon in the Safari address bar and choose Downloads.
7) Tap the downloaded track, and it will start playing. Tap the share button and choose Save to Files. Finally, go to the Files app to see the song downloaded from SoundCloud.
Note: Some songs may show an error and fail to download. At times, refreshing the page might help.
3. Use an iOS shortcut to download SoundCloud songs for free
Previously, you had the option to download SoundCloud tracks to the iOS Files app using the Soundcloud Downloader or SoundCloud Music Downloader iOS shortcuts.
All you had to do was add the shortcuts to your iPhone and then visit the SoundCloud app or website to find the song you want to save as MP3. Next, tap the share button for that track, choose the shortcut name in the iOS Share Sheet, and then allow the necessary permissions.
However, as of today, these shortcuts do not work from the iOS Share Sheet or even when you copy the SoundCloud song link to your iPhone’s clipboard and tap the shortcut in the Shortcuts app. The creator of these shortcuts is aware of this issue and may fix it in the coming days.
Once you download and save music from SoundCloud offline to your iPhone or iPad, you can even turn these songs into your iPhone ringtone without the need for a computer!
If you want to have these songs in the built-in iPhone Music app, you can AirDrop these files to your Mac and then transfer them to the iPhone Music app.
