Learn how to remove movies and TV shows from your “Continue Watching” list in the Netflix app and website on your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android phone, smart TV, or computer.

Netflix adds every piece of content you haven’t finished consuming to a special list titled “Continue Watching.” You’ve probably seen it appearing as a row of thumbnails throughout the Netflix interface.
If you are not interested in finishing a show or movie, you can remove it from the “Continue Watching” section to declutter it. This feature is also great if other people have access to your Netflix profile and you do not want them to know about a particular content you’re currently watching. Lastly, removing an unfinished title you no longer like also improves your experience by letting the algorithm make better suggestions.
Mobile app
- Open the Netflix app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone.
- Go inside your profile and find the Continue Watching for section.
- Tap the three dots icon for a movie or TV show and tap Remove from row > Remove to clear the selected title from this list.
Computer
- Visit Netflix.com in a web browser.
- Locate the Continue Watching for section and take the pointer over a title.
- Click the X icon to remove it from your Continue Watching list.
- Note that Netflix may ask for a reason. You can pick one or even hit the X button, and it will still remove the show from your Continue Watching row.
You also get an Undo button in case you want to add that title back to the Continue Watching section.
Apple TV and other TVs
- Open the Netflix app on your Apple TV or smart TV.
- Navigate to the Continue Watching row and select a title.
- Select Remove from Continue Watching.
- Make sure not to hit the Undo option and return to the previous screen. This TV show or movie will no longer show up in the Continue Watching list.
What about other devices?
After you hide a TV show or movie from your Netflix Watch history using a computer web browser, it’s also removed from the Continue Watching section on all your devices where you have signed in to Netflix.
Aside from removing them from your “Continue Watching” row, hiding titles from your viewing history also marks them as unwatched, and Netflix won’t use them to make recommendations for you (unless you watch that show or movie again in the future).
