Learn how to increase or decrease the text size of specific apps without changing the system-wide text size of your iPhone or iPad.

Imagine there are some apps on your iPhone or iPad that have tiny text, and you find them difficult to read. To fix this, you might want to go to iOS Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size and increase the text. However, this will change the text size everywhere on your device, and this is probably not what you’re looking for.
Thankfully, iOS offers an easier way to adjust the size of the text independently for each app. You can even change the font size for the Home Screen icons without affecting other apps.
A list-heavy app like Messages might look better with a slightly bigger font. On the other hand, apps such as Microsoft Outlook and Apple Notes will usually look a lot better and be more useful when set to use a slightly smaller font so you can fit more content on a single screen.
Use Per-App Settings to change the text size of an app
1) Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and tap Accessibility.
2) Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Per-App Settings.
3) Tap Add App and select the app whose text size you want to adjust.
4) Tap the added app name and select Larger Text.
5) Now drag the text size slider, and it will change the text size just for the selected app without affecting your other apps, Home Screen, etc.
If you no longer want this app to have a different text size, return to Larger Text in Per-App Settings and tap Reset Font Size to Default. Alternatively, you can swipe left on the added app in Per-App Settings and delete it.
Use Control Center to adjust an app’s text size
1) Edit your iPhone Control Center to add the Text Size button here.
2) Open the app whose text size you want to change.
3) With the app on the screen, open Control Center.
4) Touch and hold the Text Size button to have it take the entire screen.
5) Tap app name Only instead of All Apps. Now, drag the slider to adjust the text size for just this app.
In my opinion, it’s easier to change the text size from Control Center. This method also shows a text size percentage, with 100% being the default.
Look for an in-app setting
Some third-party apps may offer a built-in way to adjust the text size. Just open the app, go to its settings, and look for a Text Size option.
