Sharing a Wi-Fi password from your iPhone to another device is easy. If someone wants access to your Wi-Fi network, and you don’t remember the password, you can simply see the password on your device and share it verbally or create a QR code that your friend can scan.

1. See the Wi-Fi password on your iPhone and share it

iOS makes it very simple to see the passwords of your current and old Wi-Fi networks. All you need to do is go to iPhone or iPad Settings > Wi-Fi and tap the info button ⓘ next to a connected or known network. Now, tap the Password field and authenticate with Face ID to see the Wi-Fi password. You can tell this password to your Android friend or copy it and send it to them using Messages or WhatsApp.

3. Use an iOS app to create a secure QR code for your Wi-Fi

You will need to download a third-party app for this, which will then create a QR code for the Wi-Fi password. Simply share this QR code with your Android buddy, and they’ll have immediate access to your Wi-Fi network.

1) Download a free app called Qrafter from the App Store and open it.

2) Tap the Create Code button and select Wi-Fi Information from the next screem.

3) Enter your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, and select a security option. WPA should be suitable for almost everyone. After that, tap Next.

5) Ask your Android friend to scan this QR code using the Camera app and tap the connect button to join the network. They may also use a QR code reader app like Barcode Scanner. You can also take a screenshot or save this QR code to your iPhone gallery and show it to your Android friends or relatives whenever they come to your house.

Is it safe to use a third-party app to create a QR code for my Wi-Fi? According to the developer of the Qrafter app, it is perfectly safe to create a QR code for your Wi-Fi network. The app uses AES 256 when encrypting the QR codes, which is the industry standard for encryption.

If you do not want to download an app, you can use websites like QiFi.org to create a QR for your Wi-Fi network. We have explained this entire process here: How to share your Wi-Fi password with a QR code on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
