Learn how to schedule posts on X (formerly Twitter) via your mobile device, so you can update your followers even when offline and not actively tweeting.

Whether you manage an X profile for your personal brand or a company, scheduled posting will save you from tweeting when offline or vacating. You can set a tweet to publish at a future date and time, review and remove scheduled posts from your queue, etc. Follow our tutorial below to learn how to schedule posts on X to boost engagement for those times when not tweeting.
Use the native scheduling option on X
X provides a built-in option to schedule posts up to 18 months in the future. We’ll show you the steps to use this feature, but remember that it only works in the web interface, not the mobile app.
Schedule posts
1) Visit X.com or X Pro (formerly called TweetDeck) in your favorite browser and sign in with your account. I’m using X.com for the steps below.
2) Compose your post in the “What’s happening?” box and optionally add a photo, GIF, or video, then click the icon below your tweet that looks like a calendar with a clock on top. If you’re scheduling a large photo or video, wait until it uploads.
3) Select a future date and time for the post, then hit the Confirm button.
4) Back on the compose screen, click the Schedule button to automatically publish the post at the scheduled time.
See your scheduled posts
To review any X posts you’ve scheduled, open the Schedule pane in the web interface. Scheduled posts saved in drafts don’t show up in the mobile app.
1) Visit the web interface at X.com and click the icon resembling a calendar with a clock on top, located below the “What’s Happening” compose box.
2) Click “Scheduled posts” in the bottom-left corner of the Schedule sheet to view all queued posts.
Update a scheduled post
Follow these steps to update details for a scheduled X post, including publication time.
1) Follow the steps above to access your scheduled posts, then select one.
2) Click the current scheduled date and time.
3) Change publication date and time, then hit Update.
4) Make changes to the post, if needed, then click Schedule.
Unschedule a post or publish it now
You can remove an X post from the scheduler or publish it immediately.
1) Open the post from your X drafts, then click the scheduled date and time.
2) Hit Clear in the top-right corner of the Schedule sheet.
3) Click the Post button to send your tweet right away.
4) To remove the post from the scheduler, hit the X button and choose Discard. To unschedule the post and keep it for later, choose Save instead.
Delete all scheduled posts
1) Follow the steps above to review your scheduled posts on X.com.
2) Click Edit at the top of the Drafts sheet.
3) Tick the boxes next to drafts you’d like delete or hit Select All to mark the entire list.
4) Click Delete and confirm the action, if asked.
Schedule an X post via your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone
The official X app for iOS or Android doesn’t support scheduling, so you’ll need to visit X.com in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or another mobile browser to use the scheduling features.
Another option are specialized social media management apps. One of them is Buffer, which works great even on the free plan. Buffer provides official apps for iOS, iPadOS and Android, and has extensions for the systemwide share menu on the iPhone and iPad that simplifies tweet scheduling.
1) Download Buffer from Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store, then open the app.
2) To sign up for an account, hit the plus button in the Twitter/X section and choose Continue, then click Sign In. After logging into your X account, choose Authorize app to give Buffer permission to use your X account.
3) You’ll return to the Buffer app. Click Connect in the top-right corner and then Done.
4) With your X account successfully added to Buffer, tap the plus button at the bottom to compose your first post.
5) Tap Next in the bottom-right corner and choose Schedule Post from the menu.
6) Set your publication date into the future and choose Confirm to schedule the post.
