How to edit the accounts you see in Apple Reminders

Learn how to add or remove accounts in Apple’s Reminders app on an iPhone, iPad, and Mac to save your to-dos in your preferred online service.

Reminders Expanded Accounts iPhone

The built-in Reminders app is terrific at keeping track of your to-dos, and it supports popular online services. Aside from iCloud, it lets you manage your to-dos stored on Yahoo, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook.com, and other online places. Unfortunately, using Reminders with your Gmail account or Google account is unsupported.

When setting up an online account, optionally turn on the Reminders option. If you forgot to do so, grab your iPhone and follow along with us as we show you how.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Launch the iOS Settings app, scroll to the bottom, and tap Apps.
  2. Select Reminders from the list of installed apps.
  3. Tap Reminders Accounts.
  4. Tap an online account to toggle the Reminders option. Turning off a reminder account will require confirmation before those to-dos are deleted from the device.
  5. To add a new account for the Reminders app, choose Add Account on the accounts screen, select a service provider, and sign in. After that, check that the Reminders switch is turned on.

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac and select Internet Accounts.
  2. Click a previously added online account, then turn on the switch for Reminders.
  3. To add a new account, click the Add Account button and sign in with your credentials.
