Find out what to do if your iPhone doesn’t display missed call notifications, causing confusion and disrupting communication.

Have you been missing calls on your iPhone and not seeing missed call notifications? Even if you can’t answer a call, it’s important to know you’ve received it, especially if the person didn’t leave a voicemail.
The solution to missed call notifications not showing up on your iPhone might be as simple as flipping a toggle.
Make sure Phone notifications are enabled
This may seem too simple to be the answer, but often, it’s just a small thing that’s disrupting your flow.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and select Notifications.
- Scroll to and tap the Phone app.
- Enable the toggle for Allow Notifications.
While you’re on this screen, there are a few adjustments you can make that might help.
Alerts: You can choose one or all three areas of your screen to display your alerts. For missed calls, showing the alert on the Lock Screen is as useful as the others.
Banner Style: If you select Banners for Alerts (above) and your Banner Style is set to Temporary, you can easily miss that missed call alert. Set this to Persistent so that the banner remains on your screen until you acknowledge it.
You can adjust other settings on the Phone notification screen if you’d like, but these two changes should help display your missed calls where you need them and keep them visible.
There’s not always a complicated answer to every problem, and hopefully, this simple fix will resolve your missed call notification issue.
Turn off automatic silencing of unknown callers
Go to iPhone Settings > Apps > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers and make sure it’s off. If it’s enabled, you’ll miss calls from anyone not in your contacts or who you haven’t communicated with via Messages or Mail. Disable third-party call-blocking apps
iOS allows you to use third-party apps like Truecaller and Simple Call Blocker that can automatically block spam and other specified calls. However, these apps can sometimes make mistakes. If you’ve missed several calls from delivery people and the like, head to iPhone Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification, and turn off all the toggles here.
Update your iPhone
If your device is on an older version of iOS, head to Settings > General > Software Update and install the newest version. If the missed call problem was happening because of a software bug, updating should fix it.
Restart your iPhone regularly
Finally, such inconveniences can also happen because of temporary glitches. Turning off your iPhone and back on every few days should keep things running smoothly.
