If you’ve misplaced your iPhone, iPad, or Mac while enjoying a movie or gaming on your Apple TV, follow these simple steps to easily locate the missing device.
Find your iPhone, iPad, or Mac using your Apple TV
To find a missing device, hold down the microphone button on your Siri remote and say something like “Find my iPhone,”“Locate my iPad,” or “Where’s my Mac?” or some such. Siri will connect to the Find My network to locate the missing device. If found, you’ll see a confirmation message on the Apple TV screen.
Then, the assistant will beep the missing device. Provided the device is within Bluetooth range (10 meters or 33 feet), you’ll hear a loud sound to help you locate it.
When you find it, Find My will show a notification confirming the device has been found and retrieved. Unlock the device and tap the alert to stop the pinging sound.
The next time your iPhone slips between the cushions or your MacBook magically ends up hiding somewhere in your kid’s room, don’t panic; instead, ask Siri on your Apple TV for help. Of course, the same Siri commands to locate misplaced devices also work on other devices where the assistant is available, including your HomePod.
