This tutorial will show you how to remove a device from your Apple account on iPhone and iPad so that this list is free from devices you no longer use, have sold, or have given away.
When you buy a new device, whether it’s the newest iPhone or Apple Watch, do you take the time to remove the old device from your account? These old devices are the ones that are no longer ink your possession. It could also be that these devices have been sent to Apple for trade-in or recycled.
Cleaning up that list of devices on your account is a good idea for removing the clutter. And if you use two-factor authentication, why have devices on the list get pinged if you no longer own or use them?

Remove a device from your Apple account
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad or System Settings on your Mac.
- Hit your name from the top to access your Apple Account.
- Scroll down, and you will see a list of devices associated with your Apple ID.
- Select the device you want to remove from your account.
- Tap Remove from Account.
- Confirm the removal by tapping Remove in the pop-up.
Removing unused Apple devices from your account takes only a minute or so. And remember, that same list you see when removing devices can provide you with information for your current devices when you need it, like version and serial numbers.
