Learn how to block explicit songs and podcast shows with mature language on Apple TV for a clean, kid-friendly media experience in your house.

You may not want explicit songs and podcasts to play on your Apple TV that’s in a shared place like the living room or used by your kids.
To take care of this situation and block such content, tvOS has a restrictions feature, also known as parental controls, which allows you to disable explicit music and podcasts. Parents can also use this option to block or limit other features and services on their Apple TV as needed.

Turn off explicit content in Apple Music and Podcasts on Apple TV
1) Open the Settings app on your Apple TV.
2) Go to General > Restrictions.
3) Turn on Restrictions if it’s off.
You will be prompted to create a four-digit restrictions passcode. Go ahead and do that. I’d recommend noting this password in a safe place, like a locked entry in your Apple Notes app. Remember not to share this four-digit pin with your kids.
4) Scroll down to the Allowed Content section and highlight Music and Podcasts. Now, click it to turn Explicit to Clean.
Explicit tracks on Apple Music and shows in the Podcasts app will no longer be available on your Apple TV. To filter out nothing, go back to the Restrictions settings screen and set it to Explicit.
Tip: You can also filter or block content based on film or age ratings in Movies, TV Shows, and Apps sections below the Allowed Content heading.
